What is BrainStore?  BrainStore is a concept of skills pooling. It is skills bank development under the The Harris Group.  We are a pioneer hybrid social enterprise in Uganda,a skills bank of intellectual synergy among young professionals interested in building their communities through practical understanding of technology, technology policy and the broad spectrum of community development. Young professionals all over the world are taking the lead in re-building communities through their professional volunteerism, business development and institutional capabity building efforts. Yes, our approach is one of expert mobilization and professional volutneerism through online social networks using smart technologies. We believe in social enteprenuership as an emerging professional carreer in facilitating social inclusion.

BrainStore concept was developed as a consequence of the "IdeaFactory" project in social business entreprenuership to serve as a value support system for emerging markets in Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa. The project has been an online idea project that brought together a network of young technology, technology policy and development experts to find ways they can participate in community building. The transcript was a project rich in information and knowledge. The Harris Group is a pool of ICT & Business expertize whose ideals mirror regional efforts in meeting emerging market demands. Our strength is in intellectual synergy, individual experience working for international development agencies around the world,in-house training, peer mentorship and facilitative learning. It is from this concept that we are continuously building a database of young professional talent to enhance our business platform and our community foundation goals.

The Harris Group is engaged in ICT4D Research in Small-to-Medium Enterprises(SMEs), Human Capacity building,M&E of Multinational Donor projects in Government, corporate organizations and civil society. The foundation core goal is to build accountable institutions to facilitate the development process through technology adoption in production and supply chains.

What are the incentives for building an Information Society? What opportunities and challenges do ICTs provide in building smart governments?    What factors inhibit ICT adoption in SMEs?   What is the role of ICT in regional economic and political intergration of Africa?  What is the state of national and regional e-readiness? What efforts are being done to improve regional economic competititveness?  What is the right policy mix that facilitates economic convergency? These questions are what The Harris Group tries to address in her programs.  Our approach is one of cooperative partnerships through a multistakeholder platform and common understanding.
